Got up very early, and Elder is there a bit early as well so we head to the airport. Again...how do I get so lucky on these trips?

Very small Flores airport, and some time to kill. This time, I know the drill so I head to the desk to get my paper boarding pass. I hear the guy say I'm 8 pounds over limit, but they don't charge me this time. Ooooookay. Basically, one room of the airport is check in, one room is for the FOUR gates they have. Strangely, I have to pay a tax to go back to Guatemala City (it's only 20Q--about $2.50--but still!). Sneaky.

They let me keep my water and everything...but I have an hour to kill before the flight leaves. I am starting to be ready to go home--sleep in my bed, see my kitties--but I'm wondering if I always get this feeling because I know I'm about to be home. Would I feel this way if I still had a week left to go?

Now I'm just worried about finding my final Airbnb. There is no street address...and some confusing directions (with three different versions of the code I'm supposed to use at the gate). I also don't plan on doing much once there since I already got my COVID test and I'm exhausted from my Pacaya, Lake Atitlan and Tikal excursions.

The same plane that brought me here takes me back--named Alejandro (I guess TAG gives their planes names). As it turns out, it was very easy to find my Airbnb...it was just confusing the way she wrote it. The room is okay...but a WEIRD mattress that squeaks. I decide to head out for some pasta. Found an amazing place called Peccato Pasta that should be a chain NOW in the States. Soooo good. I had a great salad and 3 cheese pasta and enjoyed sitting at a table inside with the floor to ceiling window open. I also stop at the La Torre grocery store to get some supplies, then walk back to my room.

I take a brief nap and wake up to pouring rain again! It was so beautiful when I arrived--nice temperature and everything--but now, nothing but rain for a good few hours.

When the rain finally stops, I get out and get ANOTHER salad--the big one this time-- and bring it back for dinner. After that, I just pass out early.
