One week away...

Thailand is one week away, and I'm getting more and more nervous. I don't fear flying (beyond the usual)...but I do fear LOGISTICAL issues like delayed flights, missed appointment times, etc. I've purchased all the major transport items--plane tickets, AirBNB, and day trip tickets--so there is a certain amount of "if i don't get to such-and-such place by such-and-such time, it could throw everything off" anxiety.

I also have a real problem sleeping on planes. The problem? I can't sleep on planes. I take Dramamine which makes me drowsy and yet, I can't sleep. Considering I'm going to be travelling for 39 hours (including flight time and layover time), this presents an issue. I get into Bangkok around lunch time, and typically, I head out immediately after dropping off my bags so as to stave off jet lag (it also helps me get a great night sleep the first night because I'm exhausted--which helps with my other problem--being unable to sleep in strange beds). But if I haven't slept in over 39 hours...this could be trouble.

I'm doing everything in my power to alleviate this. The long leg of my trip--from Los Angeles to Taipei--is about 14 1/2 hours long, and the plane takes off at 230am Atlanta time. Solution 1: I should be tired after a full day of travel/layover activities in Los Angeles.

I'll have my Dramamine, and still have a Vicodin left over from when I was in the hospital. Solution 2: I should be tired after taking 2 drugs that will make me sleepy.

I've got a neck pillow, I'm going to wear pajama pants, and will have just eaten the plane food dinner. Solution 3: I should be tired after eating and being in my sleepy-time clothes.

Three strikes, and hopefully, I'm out.
